Dog Friendly Wineries

Now that Melbournians are allowed to explore regional Victoria again, we thought what better weekend activity than to plan a winery tour! Of course though, we haven’t forgotten our four legged best-friends, all of these wineries are pooch friendly!

1. Tucks Wine

Red Hill South, VIC

Tucks is a picturesque winery nestled on a ridge in the heart of the Mornington Peninsula winemaking region. Located next door to their sister estate, Montalorto, Tucks provides a relaxed environment for wine lovers and doggos alike. Tucks offers a wide range of food and wine options, alongside dog friendly settings on their terrace or their sprawling lawn. If you do visit Tucks with your pooch, don’t forget to tag your photos #pupsattucks

2. Green Olive

Main Ridge, VIC

A winery with a difference! Located in the heart of the Mornington Peninsula, Green Olive is a family run business that includes two Kelpies (Rasa and Indi) and two Maremmas (Pisa and Baci). Green Olive offers a kid-friendly, dog-friendly, whole farm experience. They grow their own olives, grapes, herbs and veggies on their 27 acre farm. So, bring your pup along for a walk around the vineyard while you experience the fresh produce, local tapas and selection of wines!

3. De Bortoli

Yarra Valley, VIC

Located in the Yarra Valley, is one of De Bortoli’s famous vineyards, and your pooch is welcome to join you, they have areas where you are welcome to sip wine with your furry companion. De Bortoli is one of Australia’s most innovative wineries, they were named Winery Innovator of the Year by the International Wine and Spirit Competition in London for a fully integrated innovation in wine. They have also been recognised in the top 10 of the Australian Financial Review’s BOSS Most Innovative Companies List - the only winery to be named in the competition! So, why take a trip to this award winning vineyard and show your pooch what all the hype is about!

4. Yering Station

Yering, VIC

Established in 1838, Yering is known as Victoria’s first commercial vineyard. Situated in the Yarra Valley - considered Australia’s premier cool climate region - Yering is regarded as one of the region’s leading wineries. Yering offers a number of options for dining and entertainment from their cellar door and restaurant, to their outdoor bar and art gallery. The restaurant at Yering boasts expansive views over the Yarra Valley and the art gallery hosts a number of exhibitions throughout the year, including the Yarra Valley Arts ‘Sculpture Exhibition & Awards’ - there is something for everyone, including pups! At Yering, dogs are welcomed in outdoor areas (on leash – no rogue pups exploring the grounds on their own!).

5. T'Gallant

Main Ridge, VIC

The pioneers of Pinot Grigio! Need we say more?! T’Gallant is ‘inspired by Italy, yet firmly rooted in the Mornington Peninsula’.  Located on a former apple orchard, T’Gallant is nestled amongst the rolling hills of Main Ridge. Whilst they’re known for their wines, they’re almost just as well known for their Pizzeria, serving delicious wood-fired pizzas year-round. Oh, and T'Gallant love their furry friends - in fact they think they’re ‘paw-some’! So next time you’re heading to the Mornington Peninsula, pop by T’Gallant where you and the pooch can relax in their outdoor piazza with a glass of prosecco in one hand and a slice of primo pizza in the other!
