1. De Bortoli

3. Kellybrook Winery

Kellybrook Winery is the perfect spot for wine lovers and their furry friends. The winery’s grounds feature a stunning 130-year-old oak tree and beautiful gardens created by Farley Kelly over the past 40 years. Kellybrook offers a variety of spaces to enjoy, from a verandah with vineyard views to cozy spots in the garden or by an open fire. As one of the closest wineries to Melbourne, it’s a welcoming destination run by the Kelly family, who have been crafting wine, cider, and apple brandy on the property for generations.

At Kellybrook, you and your pet will feel like part of the family. Dogs are welcome in a designated outdoor area, so you can bring your furry friend along for the experience. To ensure a smooth visit, Kellybrook kindly requests that your dog is friendly as it is a small outside area. It is also recommended to book ahead if you plan to bring your dog.

4. Steels Gate

Matthew Davis and Brad Atkins, Co-Directors/Owners of Steels Gate Wines, bring over 15 years of experience to their roles as vignerons. Matthew oversees viticulture while Brad manages the Steels Gate Restaurant and Cellar Door. Together, they craft the renowned Steels Gate Wines.

The vineyards prioritize environmental sustainability, employing dry-grown methods and minimal intervention practices. The Home Block Vineyard, acquired in 2009, was transformed from blackberry overgrowth to a thriving site surrounded by King Lake National Park.

Head chef Kate Kilsby shares Steels Gate's ethos of boutique, sustainable practices. She looks forward to showcasing local produce and tending her own chef’s garden, inspired by the sense of well-being and connection inherent in country life.
